Doula Support in London
Amisha the birthworker
As a doula in London, I offer pregnant women and people support during pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period.
About me
I’m Amisha (they/she), a birth doula and childbirth educator based in North West London.
I have supported hundreds of parents to feel calm, confident and relaxed as they prepare for their positive birth journeys.
I work with parents across London who want informed, compassionate support during pregnancy and birth. Many of the families I support are navigating the maternity system for the first time and want someone beside them who understands birth rights, advocacy, and the emotional journey of becoming a parent.
Don’t let other people’s opinions and fears dictate your birthing experience. I will support you to dream of the birth you deserve and be by your side to help make that a reality.

Why hire a doula?
As a doula, I provide continuous emotional, physical and educational support throughout pregnancy, labour, birth and postpartum. This differs from NHS Maternity & Perinatal Care where you will see various healthcare professionals and will likely give birth with a midwife you have never met before.
Continuous perinatal support
Doulas stand in the gap
Personalised care
We bridge the gap between expectant parents and healthcare professionals to give pregnant women and people the affirmation and care they deserve.
As a doula, I will get to know you personally and help you develop trust in your body and your decisions. Despite what others may tell you, you are the number one expert in your body.
My commitment
Throughout my doula career, I have supported various types of births ranging from ‘hands off’ homebirths to gentle elective caesareans (or belly births). I will support your choice however, wherever and with whoever you chose to birth with. I have also supported those who make choices that fall ‘out of guidelines’ and work alongside their midwifery/obstetric team to create a personalised care plan.
Today, a lot of the issues pregnant women and people face when navigating the healthcare system stem from anxieties due to lack of information and lack of support. As a doula, I will help to foster a sense of agency that is often not prioritised. I do this by working collaboratively with you to explore your birth preferences and help you to understand your rights. Together we will develop the tools you need to advocate for yourself and I will step in when you cannot.
My birthwork practice extends to the postpartum period, ensuring that have you have personal autonomy over your own reproductive decisions and the ability to parent in a safe, sustainable environment.
